Was the dark of the moon on the sixth of June
In a Kenworth pullin' logs
Cab-over Pete with a reefer on
And a Jimmy haulin' hogs
We is headin' for bear on I-one-oh
'Bout a mile outta Shaky Town
I says, "Pig Pen, this here's the Rubber Duck
"And I'm about to put the hammer down"

'Cause we got a little ol' convoy
Rockin' through the night
Yeah, we got a little ol' convoy
Ain't she a beautiful sight?
Come on and join our convoy
Ain't nothin' gonna get in our way
We gonna roll this truckin' convoy
'Cross the USA

There, absolutely.

It's a little late here. The Supreme Court ruling has come down, mask mandates are disappearing, and lockdowns are a thing of the past. But, blue state governors had no problem with destroying the economy to hurt Trump, so I DGAF if the truckers want to do their thing.

The arrival of the self-styled “freedom convoy” in Ottawa this week has dominated headlines, but do the demonstrators represent the views of most Canadians? When it comes to their stark opposition to government-imposed restrictions and vaccine mandates, research shows the protesters clearly represent a minority view — no matter how vocal they are.

quote:

Most Canadians support government measures to help control the spread of COVID-19, according to our ongoing public opinion study. Known as the COVID-19 Monitor, the study of Canadians’ attitudes relating to the COVID-19 pandemic and public policy interventions has been running since shortly after the first COVID-19-related government restrictions were introduced in March 2020. It has amassed more than 100,000 respondents, making it one of the largest continuing studies of Canadian attitudes toward the pandemic.

Probably the CBC that conducted a poll that, rather than asking if they support/don't support the freedom convoy, probably asked some convoluted question like: "Do you think that shutting down commerce and the terrorizing citizens of color by neo-nazis is a good thing or a bad thing?"

Maybe you can read that again and realize the operative word of "measures" doesn't include all the crap you think it does.

These are the people that conducted that study:

quote:

The Digital Society Lab at McMaster University aspires to serve as a world-class, interdisciplinary research facility dedicated to the study of the complex societal transformations that have accompanied the digital age.

quote:

Vox Pop Labs builds innovative technologies that foster democratic participation
We create survey-based applications that organize information in ways which are easily accessible, scientifically rigorous, and profoundly personalized. In so doing, we offer compelling online experiences that promote civic engagement and informed dialogue.

Our applications have been featured by respected news media establishments around the world.

And this is a very typical example of how these "researchers" manipulate these "polls"

They didn't ask people about the convoy. They took data from tangential, non-protest-related "polls" and used it to say that Canadians disagree with the protests. It's such a bad hack job that even a dumbass like me can figure out what they're doing.

Are we really pivoting towards what measures Canadians would support?

Regardless of whatever measures they support, it’s pretty clear that they do not support this protest.

It's actually not at all. The poll you cited doesn't even conclusively say that.

I mean, that's kind of the 14 day long protest.

Oddly, it began a lot sooner than that, you just didn't see it. You don't watch guys like TWBeardsman, Robinet or James so I don't fault you.

get ‘em baw!

and to the OP: frick yeah i support them. Canada’s “we must trample your liberty so that we can give you liberty” take is retarded and only the true believers would ever support it.
