Actually it may be a good idea if you're applying for a co-op or internship. I did a co-op for a company that had a super competitive softball league. It was pure gold when one team would show up with the ringer intern.

An applicant to a friend of mine's company listed on his resume that he consistently remained on the practice squad of the Dallas Cowboys for a certain period of time. After my friend sent me a snippet it was apparent based on how he worded it that he was SUPER PROUD of it.
It was funny because the friend is a diehard Cowgirls Fan and did not find record of it when he researched, and he actually did try to verify it. I need to ask if they ever hired him.

Even if you played at a Div II school?
Yes. Are you kidding? Yes. I list the fact that I was in a fraternity and I list the fraternity on the off chance that the hiring person was also in it or has some connection to it.
You absolutely put that you played Short Stop at Missouri Baptist or wherever. Absolutely.
