I have great in-laws. They leave us alone. Throughout the divorce and reconciliation, they never took sides or got involved.

I sometimes call my in-laws just to visit.

Wife's dad split before she was born and her mom passed before we got together.

She loves my family and they love her.

My FIL is great…nicest guy generous to a fault…helpful not intrusive…We go to the casino and play poker tournaments a couple times a month…MIL is very nice but a little out there…never know what she is going to say or do…not in a bad way, just unsettling.

overall yes... they are both really sweet people who I feel genuinely care for me and love our son with every ounce of their being...hard to ask for more.

I especially like her father...he's down to earth matter of fact and just easy to be around.... and I say that after getting off to a rocky start when me and her were dating.

I love and care for her mother but my God she can drive me crazy. She's really well meaning but a touch self centered. Will inject herself into and extend interactions to the point where it feels like your in a skit and is expert and playing both off with the bumbling little old lady card.
