In AA one of the main things is learning how to control your own emotions.

Harder than it seems, for me anyway. I blow up on the reg, but now I cool off real fast. And I dont hild grudges anymore

Same here. If someone has anger issues over the age of 16, I don't want them around.

Honestly, me. I don't really openly rage, but anything I look at as bullshite, sickening, or unjust I simply have no tolerance for and will call it out as I see it. I'm openly jovial and can compartmentalize these feelings without putting them in the open, but I usually feel as if I have to vent somewhere eventually. I'm very much working on my internal anger issues right now and trying to calm down a bit.

Its a miracle this has never happened to my brother. He has always been hotheaded but its gotten so bad lately, I can barely stand to be around him for very long. He just goes on these long rants about anything and everything he doesn't agree with. He never gets confrontational ( he only tried that once ) with me when I call him on his bullshite, he just gets quiet and you can see his fuming.

Yeah, I've known her ex-husband for a long time so he doesn't have a problem with me. He's a big guy and when he gets mad he starts breathing really heavy and his eyes get crazy. Scares his daughter, my stepdaughter, to death so she never opens up to him. It's sad, really. He has drink and drug problems (he's supposedly years sober), but we always wonder when we're going to get the phone call that he's dead or arrested for drugs/assault/murder.

Haha. Well, he does his best to provide for her and be a good dad. He's not perfect, but she loves him and I know he loves her. I never try to get between them. She just comes to me for advice about school, life choices, problems, etc. I'm more of a mentor to her than a father, I guess.

In human beings, anger originates from one of two sources - hurt and fear. If you sit down and think about your brother's life, you will soon see the main issue.

I am the calmest and most laid back person unless one of 3 things happens and then I get so angry it scares people but after its all over they agree I had a right to be angry but they don't always approve of me reactions, even though it's justified IMO

I hope I don't do one of those 3 things!

I don't think you have any worries. Usually only super hammered people who have no self-control or people who are just evil would do them.

I do get enraged when it's OK to speak about someone with lies or innuendo and to feel like they are not within their rights to kick your arse. I had a doctor friend in Shreveport who was subject of slams by another doctor at the hospital. The other guy talked about his wife and intelligence on and on. Finally having enough my friend caught the other doc in a confined area and kicked the shite out of him. I'm good with that and after an investigation the hospital was as well.

I've always had anger issues. I've pretty much learned to control it but it's always there bubbling below the surface.
