really, while I agree that $200k isn't what it used to be(maybe the new $100k?

I didn't say that, and what you posted doesn't refute what I said.
Making 200k will certainly put you far ahead of the average household as far as saving for retirement and college. It will also allow you to live the lifestyle MANY of those average households are, but without all of the debt.
Making 200k,regardless of the geographic location, does not allow someone to live what most consider the "rich" lifestyle unless they are either in debt or not saving much for retirement.
