New lady at work is. frick! She has a long drawn out story for anything. If you say anything, she can take a single word out of your statement and proceed with some personal story that is somehow remotely related to that word. She's been here about 2 weeks and I'm already done talking anywhere in her vicinity.

Guy I work with just finished talking my ear off for literally 90 minutes, he's cool and we mostly talk about movies and comics, but sometimes I wish I had a trap-door shute by my desk so I could get work done.

Used to live with a guy who was constantly on klonopin and would talk very slowly and about the most inane shite, like what youtube videos he watched that day. I couldn't tolerate that shite; he was the primary reason I moved out. Guy was also in his mid-50's and hadn't worked since his early 30's because of his "flat feet", as he liked to claim- total leech dependent on any welfare he could qualify for.

I work with one. It sucks. There are a lot of these type of people out there and it just amazes me that someone could be that oblivious to not be able to tell when people DGAF.

Married, but she throws the "do me" vibe at me all the time.

I know a woman that loves to talk. I get to say "Hey" and "Bye" and she fills in everything in between.
When she gets going it's best to open up a window because she might use up all the oxygen in the room.

What's wrong with liking to talk?

I talk....a lot. I do try to be aware of it with friends and coworkers. I've even told friends if I'm talking too much to please feel free to tell me to please shut up and I won't take offense. Some are so quiet and don't like to talk....me talking makes it easier on them cause then they don't have to say anything.

You must [think] you have lots of friends.

My wife is one

I don't mind too much now, though. After being around her for almost 9 years, I can pick up on her speech patterns pretty easily and keep the convo moving with a well-timed not or grunt of affirmation/disapproval and she's off to the races again

Wins me brownie points for being a "good listener" and letting her vent, and saves me the trouble of having to manufacture conversation topics out of thin air

My wife is not one of those vaccinated with a phonograph needle types, but she talks to the dogs, to the TV, to the furniture, to her magazines... so I tune a lot of stuff out automatically.... but then she gets angry... "I'M TALKING TO YOU! You never listen to me."

This is my situation except it's one girl and two boys. She is the oldest (7) and the worst of the three. I've recently started crushing her future Bernie spirit and letting her know it's not all about her. I'm trying to prevent her from doing this the rest of her life.

Am I wrong for this?

Nothing is wrong with it. It's just that when people say "how's it going," it's just the social norm to say that. It doesn't mean we want to know everything that's going on.

Did your lipstick come out at that point, and that's why you didn't hear what she was saying?

I have a buddy that talks when it is obvious no one is listening. Over the years, I've learned to ignore both guys and girls and just say one word every now and then to pretend like I'm paying attention. I told my last woman that I wasn't listening to her twice. Didn't happen a third time.

You talk too much, you worry me to death,
You talk too much, you even worry my pet.
You just talk, talk too much.

You talk about people that you don't know,
You talk about people wherever you go.
You just talk, talk too much.

You talk about people that you've never seen,
You talk about people, you can make me scream.
You just talk, you talk too much.
