I met a couple once. There used to be a golf course called First Colony in Sugar Land and I played a lot of golf there. Started playing with a woman about 15-18 years older than me. Her and her husband were Canadian and he was a high powered guy with Schlumberger. Got to know them through golf and they invited me over to their house for dinner. She was super cool but he was kind of weird.
long story short a month or so later his wife and I were supposed to play golf and got rained out. Ended up going over to La Quinta and she told me that he was really into swinging. he liked to watch her get the coals thrown to her. She told me he loved to watch. Said he would be super pissed if he ever found out what we were doing but he would gladly let me come over to their house and do her if he could sit there and watch us.
Honestly this was some weird shite. Too weird for me. Closest I came to that scene.

We didn't participate in any open events, it was usually smaller parties with a dozen or less couples. If you don't control who is present, it opens the door for some questionable types

I just don’t get how could anyone watch their SO get pounded by a stranger and enjoy it.

I know of people who are swingers, but there was this family in my neighborhood.
The dad was a short, thin guy and his wife was taller than him and not as thin as him and they were sort of know as "religious". They were big in a local non-denom church. Someone told me the story, but evidently their son (who was a teenager) found his dad's porn stash in their bedroom. when they were not home..
There were a few burned DVDs in there and the son popped one in and it was his parents with another couple. Evidently he confronted them or asked them about it.. And the couple ended up getting a divorce. So did the other couple.. And the daddy remarried the wife from the other couple.. It was a fricked up situation, but that had to be a surprised to the son when hit play on that DVD.

There's different levels. Not all of them involving the wife having sex with other men. The lowest level is called "same room", which is a couple having sex with their partner only, in the same room with another couple. Some people are only into watching the wives play together. Then, of course, on the other extreme you have stuff like cuckolding which I'm hesitant to even call swinging.

Yeah we had some people, ,Mainly in their 20s who were curious and would come and hang out, might watch a little but never even get nude themselves.

Some couples I know swing.
At least one of them was in an organized group who would rent hotels on the weekend and swap spouses on a schedule, with the idea that they wouldn’t get too attached to any one person.
Of course that failed miserably, as old gal fell in love with the guy with the perfect cock who wasn’t her husband, leading to a divorce. Irony of which being that the whole idea of the swinging / open marriage was to save their marriage.

It’s supposed to work like the couples uses others like sex toys. There’s no emotion nor attachment.

It's definitely not something I'd do again. Feelings do happen and people use a lot of alcohol and drugs to try to avoid emotion.
To be honest it kinda burned me out on sex and I found I really liked romance much more when I quit and sobered up. In a way it ruined sex but I prefer forms of affection today.
