Do you feel differently about abortion than in vitro fertilization

In my experience, most people feel way more strongly opposed to abortion than in vitro (with embryos being discarded following a successful pregnancy).

Personally, I’m not a fan of either but I’m not the judge

It usually results in multiple fertilized eggs that get discarded once the desired outcome is reached.

That’s a slippery slope.

Well that’s usually what happens. What do you suggest they do?

It’s the parents’ decision

I dont care what other people do as long as it doesn't effect me personally.

You’re killing a baby with abortion. A baby that is growing in a woman’s body. Not even comparable.

Not to the “ life begins at conception” folks.

They can be put up for adoption. Couples adopt embryos...very much a thing now.

That was the option I chose when I did IVF if there were any embryos not used (there were not).

ETA: They make you sign a mountain of legal documents in regards to this btw when you decide to do IVF. Custody documents if the couple divorces, what happens to the embryos if both parents die, etc, etc.

What do you think a discarded fertilized egg is?

We didn’t go to IVF because of age. We felt that each fertilized egg was life. Would be too old to try a second or third round or we would have done one effect to be fertilized at a time and was too expensive to try that way. Did IUI a few times with no luck. Finally worked the fun way.

tigergirlwhoisnotreallyagirl is pretty damn dumb, "she" likely doesn't understand what IVF really is

They can be donated or retrieved later. The Mrs. and I did it in 1999. None of the embryos (we didn't have many survived) Three were implanted the other 5 didn't progress past day 3.

We did agree to go back for all viable embryos no matter what. I think anyone doing IVF should do the same or agree to donate viable embryos.

We ended up with our 2nd and third daughters as a result. It was a good decision for us.

I know a woman who proudly boasts of having had 3 abortions. She then married a guy who made lots of money. She ended up having IVF with loaner eggs and sure enough, she has twins that are totally screwed up. Major psychological problems from chromosomes being messed up. One has gender dysphasia and Torret’s syndrome and the other is clinically depressed and suicidal.

Karma caught up with his bigly.

We had our son via IVF. We chose the option to donate any remaining embryos but we didn’t have any that survived. 4 rounds of IVF. 3 did not have a surviving embryo.

You forgot the third leg of this trifecta: taking birth control pills that work as abortifacients in addition to suppressing ovulation.

All 3 kill concepted life.

If God is who He says he is, all 3 are murder in his eyes.

Narrow is the true path.
