When my last Son went off to college, I remember thinking, what will I do with the rest of my life.
Fortunately my first Son soon called and let us know our daughter in law was pregnant.
Grandkids filled the gap.

When Dad asked me to shave his face after his surgery, I knew that was going to be the last time I talked to him (he was a Marine who did not like to have a scruffy face). He passed away in the hospital that night.
