why stop at an extension cord? what about a metal rod?
doesn't the bible say something about spoiling the rod or something? Children should be beaten with anything you can get your hands on if they are bad IMO

I caught the occasional whipping with a belt for sure. Or a flip flop if it was handy. If I broke a rule, I was usually punished and had to kneel in a corner for like 15 minutes. If it was bad enough, I had to kneel in rice.

I wouldn't do that to my kid, but I really see nothing wrong with how I was disciplined. I wasn't verbally berated, it wasn't excessive, and I was always taught a lesson after.

That being said, we live in a different time and place these days.
