who's adrian peterson?
A guy that hit his kid. Based on the evidence I saw it was "beating". That's entirely different from "spanking" which some people do not understand.
Perhaps that is because no one has actually explained what it is.
One poster supplied a chart that had polled people concerning a "Good Hard Spanking" whatever da hell that is. It isn't explained but doesn't sound like something I would support.

Spare the rod spoil the child is not in the Bible. Beating your children, rape and condoning murder are. It has zero credibility as a reference point to raising well adjusted children

The actual quote was written by Samuel Butler, a 17th century poet, but it is likely inspired from the Bible verse in Proverbs 13:24, “Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them.” Very close in meaning but they are not exactly the same; perhaps Samuel Butler was just concisely paraphrasing the meaning.
More commonly accepted KJV.
quote:
He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.
Since not everyone is Christian I don't think they should be expected to follow the teachings of the bible but here it is for those that do.
