Definitely not true for everyone. I was a gymnast and tennis player growing up. Never sprained an ankle. Twisted them plenty of times but it was never more than that, never once did I actually have a sprain.

Here's my experience:

I get so weak in the knees, I can hardly speak
I lose all control and something takes over me
In a daze and it's so amazing, it's not a phase
I want you to stay with me, by my side
I swallow my pride, your love is so sweet
It knocks me right off of my feet
Can't explain why your loving makes me weak

Everyone has equal amount of strength in their ankles. I learned that in 2nd grade.

My orthopedic doctor and all the braces and inserts I wore as a child say I was born with weak ankles.

I’ve had weak ankles ever since the Marines. I rolled one in boot camp so bad that they put me in a cast for 7 weeks.

I actually sprained my ankle once standing at work. I just shifted my weight a little and rolled it right over.

I do exercises with Therabands and it seems to help.
