Go karts
Damn I used to have so much fun driving a friend's go kart in races on a local dirt track when I was a young kid.

Back in the day.....We built our own. Somebody in the neighborhood was an auto mechanic and that's how you learned your basic mechanic skills.
We started off building coaster cars...basically some configuration of 4 wheels and something to sit or lay down on and go down a hill. We sometimes tried to make steering mechanisms but strangely enough I never remember being concerned about brakes. Many's the time I have zoomed down a steep hill laying face down on a 2x4 with 4 wheels attached to it....it was a blast even when you stopped by hitting something which is how you stopped every time.
We moved on to trying to fly out of barns and off rooftops and hills with various forms of "wings" most of which consisted of a piece of plywood we would attach to our bodies somehow. We never flew far but man did we ever have some spectacular landings....
When we figrued out a horizontal shaft engine man forget about it...we could find a way to make one drive a wheel on just about anything. We never paid much attention to steering and paid no attention to braking but going forward at an incredible rate of speed considering what we were riding??? Ain't no engineer in Detroit had anything on us....
I will gurantee you no one under the age of 18 as we speak has ever cut the forks off one bicycle and drove them on the forks of another and made themselves a chopper. I would almost bet no one under 35 has ever done it...

Some dickhead cop wrote my mom a ticket for me driving a go kart. The judge laughed at him in court and tossed it, thankfully.

We has a similar one growing up. Was a one wheel drive
We rode that thing for days. Unfortunately someone stole ours.

Nah. The boomers are the ones that let their kids play on go karts. And stay out until the lights came on. They did t give a frick. It’s the next generation that stopped it.
I was raised like this by boomers. Which is why i'm so perplexed that they're the same ones calling the cops and whining on boomerbook about kids in the neighborhood riding scooters or golf carts, etc.

Not being a smartass but just do a Google search it should find them in your area.
I am not personally into it and I don't have a big friend circle at all and I know 3 dads that make this a hobby for their sons.

Ran another kid over in a go cart. He was trying to save his dog.
