My own observation is that the more people talk about mental health and emphasize it, and especially the more people get special treatment because of it, the less "mentally healthy"/ more medicated the population seems to get. Gen-Z do seem to have lots more basket cases than even Gen-X; regardless of the reasons that seems like a bad thing.
You're not wrong.
Here's the tricky thing about the science of psychology and mental "disorders." Someone could be an apathetic waste of space simply because they're a lazy and selfish a-hole.
Well...if the right strings get pulled with the right professional associations then...voila! We now have "Selfish and Lazy a-hole Disorder"
See how that works?

Disabilities or minor inconveniences?

Gen Z went through highschool and college seeing everyone get extra time and accommodations academically for disabilities of a variety of reasons.
They're playing the game, they just don't know any other way.
The further you get into gen z it goes from having accommodations made to fill on celebrating a disability and being successful. Being average without a disability is seen as having an advantage in all aspects of life
The best cross country high school runners today all have asthma.
What a coincidence.
But they are very, very brave for overcoming their disability.

I've enjoyed my time on Team Cripple for a while. It's always funny when someone claims an obviously fake issue and I show them my gigantic arse scar of where most of my lung was removed from my body.

everyone claims to be on the "spectrum" for autism.
Other than that capitalism isn't the same as it was in 1950.
It's now made for the rich to get richer and us to become a nation of renters and never own anything.

I'm with you here. I'm about to pay a slight premium for a house just to break the trend.

You forgot anxiety i have never seen so many people complain of disabling anxiety

My annoyance is the new fad of all these people suddenly claiming they were once sexual assault victims.
Give me a break. Men love sex. Don’t get naked and go home with one you don’t know.

I have noticed a lot of people on social media either wanting to be diagnosed with autism as an adult or almost willing their children into an autism diagnosis. No one is just anti social or different or developmentally delayed anymore. They’re autistic.
There’s apparently some Tik Tok videos going around with “Hey if you do this/have this you might have Autism!”. I’ve had no less than 5 clients in the last month come in with “I saw this TikTok video”.
They don’t get the concept of the clinical threshold of mental health disorders. Someone being a neat freak doesn’t mean they have OCD. Or someone feeling stress at work doesn’t mean they have anxiety.

Not going to lie, all the idiots crying about anxiety piss me off. When mine was bad when I was younger, I was getting 2 to 3 panic attacks a week even while medicated. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy, shite feels like a heart attack.
