Don't know if it's been posted but pretty much everybody with a LA driver's license can get a year of free lifelock basic.

Everyone should go out to the 3 credit reporting agencies and put a freeze on your credit.

You can do a thaw if applying for a loan.

This is a bigtime safety measure.

I did this afer the Equifax or whatever breach. But I've since learned there are other smaller credit agencies. Why wouldn't worthless garbage scum thieves just try and go through those smaller and likely un-frozen agencies?

Lifelock doesn't do much. I've applied for credit in the past and got no warning although I have the service.

I have LifeLock through my work for free and I agree with this. About all that they do is notify you when there is a large withdrawal from your bank accounts. I think they also do some searching on the dark web to see if your info appears for sale anywhere.

Lifelock was breached by the same software vulnerability that OMV was. Enjoy that safety.

My credit cards offer similar services for free. They'll notify me if a big loan is taken out. You can't really stop it, it's more of attacking the problem early once it's begun.

The best thing you can do is use 2FA, especially for any financial apps you use.
