I'm thinking about DMSO for my various wounds and injuries related to my physical body.

Please share your experiences with this stuff, if you've tried it. I hear that it can be a wonderful thing.

Thanks.

It works
You might get an onion or garlic taste in your mouth after the application
Be careful wrapping over it
Make sure the area you apply it to is clean

I like garlic.

So, DMSO is worth a try, it seems. Anybody else try it?

Long term use results in shrunken testicals but if you enjoy garlic more then you make the choice.

I don't use it on myself but I use it on the horse all the damn time.

I'm usually too lazy to put on gloves. It smells awful and puts a funny taste in your mouth but I'm not dead yet.

Works great for sweating down swelling on horse legs.

Why do you say not to wrap over it? Is that a person thing? If I've got a whole leg swollen I mix furazone and DMSO, cover in paper towels, then cover in plastic wrap and wrap the leg. Maybe people skin is too sensitive?

In a sweat wrap for horses it doesn't seem to burn the skin in my experience. On my own skin it seems to but that might not be the case for other folks.

I have huge balls, baw, so a little reduction in size may be a good thing.

I use it all the time at work...in the lab. We use it as a solvent when testing for residual solvents in raw materials. Working with it will make most people have a garlic taste in their mouth.

Yeah. Thankfully I've never blistered my accident prone child.

I'll put in on straight to other swellings that can't be wrapped. I think the gel is the easiest to use. It's dirt cheap, too.

Used in the late 70s for IT band knee problems. Didn't help at all.

I tried it about 35 years ago. It absorbs stuff thru the skin. Heat, garlic taste. Can cause reaction such as swollen glands. I was working in a military hospital and was warned about possible choking among other side effects. I was running a lot back then. Funny thing was that the chief nurse asked me if I was interested in blood doping. True story.
