CS is no longer about sharing the cost, it's about equaling out the households so the kids don't cycle from trailer to mcmansion when they go to each of their parents homes.
This is true but it still doesn’t change the outcome. I made a very difficult decision to keep the house we built while married. The neighborhood I’m in is the very best place for my kids to grow up in my area. I don’t have a ton of cashflow left after bills and child support but I make it work.
She bought a 2 bed/1bath 800sqft house with 3 kids. She could do a lot better with the money I gave her but it’s out of my hands.

quote:$600/mo for 2 boys can't go far. The incidentals, toothpaste/soap/deodorant/socks/underwear not including what 2 boys can eat would run through $600 in less than 2 weeks.
How can 600$ a month cover anything for 2 boys
That’s like 2 toys and a marucci bat

She can spend it however she likes baw and there’s not a damned thing you can do about it.
That’s not the point, dummy. If child support is intended to cover clothes and shoes, then he is under no moral obligation to pay for those directly. His question is: Is child support intended to cover that?
I think child support covers that. Do not split that with her unless you want to. She is within her rights, however, to send them on their visits to you with just the clothes on their backs. You would have to buy any necessary additional stuff.

Your CS covers all of this. Zero obligation to pay extra for clothes shoes etc. You put yourself behind the 8ball when you started contributing extra.
She’ll bitch but can’t do anything (legally) about it.
As a family law paralegal, this is exactly right.
