I am surprised, tbh, but i never lost signal either.
Maybe the direct tv tech was being honest when he said they have fixed most of those issues

TV was off and on all afternoon yesterday. Had to leave to watch LSU.
TV has been useless all day today.
F Direct TV in my area. A couple of my friends all have the same issue at the same times

My dishnetwork did this too.
I called them and insisted they send a tech out. It took him 10 minutes to climb on the roof and point the dish properly. It doubled the signal strength. Dish hasn't gone out since.
As to why some channels go out and others do not, I think some channels are on one satellite and other channels are on other satellites. I had this problem when my dish was pointed in the wrong direction.

First I must say that DTV hasn't put anything "new and cool" into our homes in almost four years. Horrible for the leader in tv. The best tv is during the rainy seasons and that is bad news in the south. I joined them in 2007 in San Diego and as soon as i move to north Dallas.....! Heavy clouds and winds meant neflix and married life. Now im in shitty arse Ellic and its baaaad.

Lololol. Yeah its pretty depressing at times. Especially days like this when DTV is a shitshow due to weather and its 80 degrees with a little sun in SD. I think I'll start scouting the Ga/Fla are for my next move though. See whats east of the mississippi.

Sorry, but that's just not true.
I've been setting up satellite receivers and dishes for many years. Since back when we used those huge C and K band dishes in the 80s. I personally supervised the install I have now, but I could tell right off the bat the guy they sent knew his stuff. We have the signal as strong as it can get, and I've double checked it a couple times since the original install. shite is perfect, yet I still lose signal.

I love how people accept "it mostly works" as a justifiable reason to save $15 a month on their primary entertainment t expenditure. frick satellite TV and the idea that "it doesn't go out too often". First time I have to leave the house to watch LSU would be the last.

I had dish network years back and it was fine, but I live in Los Angeles and our weather is very mild.
I've been with time warner cable for years now and can't understand why they get so much hate. It's a lot cheaper than direct tv, there's no contracts, any time u call up they offer generous discounts on premium channels, and their roku app is amazing. Their internet is also fast, affordable and 99.9% reliable. I've had pleasant experiences with their customer service.
