Which do you think is worse for you? Which one is more likely to give you some kind of oral cancer? My great grandfather chewed his entire life and never had any mouth problems. I know other people who have chewed their entire lives and never had any kind of mouth problems? Is there something about chew that's different from dip or is it just pure luck that you don't get any kind of oral problems?

Dip is more concentrated and more likely in the same exposed areas on a regular basis..Red Man reaction=satisfaction

I've been told by medical professionals that smokeless tobacco has worse effects when combined with heavy drinking, especially with liquor. Also, I think it's just hit or miss. Some people's cells are more prone to cancer.

My opinion would be that chew would be worse because it's a lot messier with more juice reaching the throat.

I also know that dip has tiny pieces of fiberglass in it to cut your gums so that it gives you a buzz. Chew gives you a little buzz and after doing it a few times you don't feel any kind of buzz. I'm sure that having fiberglass tearing your gums up over time is pretty bad for you

I agree. But in my limited knowledge, I have mostly ever heard of people getting throat cancer. While dip can erode your gums and make your teeth get bad, I haven't heard of as many people getting gum cancer. Again, I admit I am probably wrong. But I dipped from ninth grade to a few years after college. I had what I thought was a scare, and the doc told me that I was good. Just not to combine the smoking, drinking and dip.

I'm completely done with it now.

I see what you mean though when it comes to throat cancer because chew does have more juice and it is more likely to slide down your throat

What do you mean don't combine drinking, smoking, and dipping? Like if your drinking one night don't dip and smoke as well that night?

Uhh.... no. If there was glass shards in dip you'd have more than burning gums

Correct. Lots of hard liquor basically kills off the epi-layer of throat cells, leaving the underlying cells susceptible to the carcinogens from the chew/dip. This is something that happens over time tho. Of course, the best way to avoid throats cancer is to cease all tobacco habits, because you can get throat cancer even if you don't drink.

I've been dip free for about 5 years. But, I'm not gonna lie, sometimes I see a can at a gas station that's callin my name and I have to resist.

I used to do all three plus monsters. To this day, I still smoke and drink monsters and beer.
I blame it all on a prior deployment. Smokes, dip, and Rip Its might as well be in the MRE's, and then, I always dreamed of drinking better shite than the near beer I was drinking.

Using tabacco of any type is rather trashy.

Ive been dip free for about the same. I used chantix. I still get hard cravings with a couple of different triggers. The worst is when i get in my truck knowing that I will be driving for an hour or two. It is really hard to pass up the first couple of gas stations.

I know that agony. Road trips are the worst when it comes to trying to avoid dipping and recently, cigarettes. When I'm at work, I don't crave anything.
