what kind of tools do you have access to? saws, jointer?

When my wife and I bought our house a few years ago, she was insistent that we have a dining room. The realtor said it best when she said "honey, a dining room is a just a room for you to store your dining room furniture in."

My stepfather made me a breakfast table almost exactly like this. I showed him a picture from Boondock Rustics and he replicated it to the dimensions I needed. The top is cypress so it was around $350 for the lumber, I think. I love it.

Love me some cypress. Only silver lining to the recent flood is that i came into about 1000 board feet in 4/4 cypress boards at various widths. Already built a patio Bar out of some of it.

My buddy and I built this. Ordered the legs online somewhere and built the top out of regular lumber from Home Depot. Planned everything down square and used pocket holes to attach everything together. My wife did some 5 step stain job that took entirely too long but I think it turned out great. Total out of pocket was $230. Table is 72"x"40.
