Nope, if anything were to happen to my mother I knew my maternal grandparents would take me in since I spent my summers with them.

No. I grew up on a farm. Giving away the workforce is not a practical idea.

Nope, my sperm donor threw my mom through a plate glass window when she was naked and used to beat her. She got away and raised me and my sisters best she could until she met my real father reading a book with and a popcicle in his and and his pants undone in a recliner while he was home on leave from Vietnam. The got marred and held hands every night when the went to sleep for almost 50 years. I was lucky.

Most kids are better off being adopted.

It’s good their sister is part of your kids’ lives and by extension, has you. You and your wife might make a difference in her life depending how her father is. A good mentor is sometimes better than a parent.

Well our child was a baby.
We had an arrangement to meet with her biomom once or twice a year, usually around Christmas.

Then she started wishing our child happy birthday and refering to her as the daughter and posting on social media.

So visiting was termed.

Found the idiot....

If you read through the thread, you'd understand my reasonings...

Nope, I was brought by my biological parents, who was able to give me and my four other siblings a good home and education.

She twenty-four now, and considering the life she was brought up in, she's done well for herself, basically being brought up by her great grandmother. She made some mistakes, but learned from them. She understands her mom had demons, and completely avoids that lifestyle.

Ours were three month, so still babies, and we had an agreement with their biological mother for visitation once a month. She showed up once and never heard from her again. She fell deep off the wagon, got involved with a woman in a relationship who turned her on to heroine and now she's deceased.

Her life spiraled out of control, and she never got herself straight. It was a true blessing for us to adopt our kids, as well as a blessing for them. I believe stuff happens for a reason.

I asked my mom if I was adopted when I was around 5 or 6.

She said, “who in the hell would adopt someone like you?”

My mom always introduced me as "her son from her 1st marriage". Funny thing is, she was only married once for 50yrs...
