Thank you for any info. You guys have been wonderful helping each other out with info. That's what this board is about.

How did the neighborhood make out? between highland park and Perkins, between Siegen the west boundary and Pecue the east boundary. Looks like there may be a drainage ditch running west to east through the exact center of the neighborhood parallel to bayou fountain.... Eta: to be even more specific, the area north of the ditch that runs through the middle, so closet to Perkins and closer to Seigen... Thank you

Also does that neighborhood have specific name, so I know what to call it and what to look out for in the future when it comes to updates. ( I've called it Village St George but not sure if that's correct or just part of that section I mentioned) TIA

Thank you and good vibes to everyone dealing with this. Much love and hope coming from Nola.

Eta: also any of you fellas and females that I know on here need a place to crash to get away for a couple days, hmu, you know you are always welcome to come suck up my AC and cheap booze on my couch for as long as you need.

You mean compared to the city of Baton Rouge, Denham Springs, Central, Zachary, Walker, Watson, or Prarieville?

All of the area municipalities have seen some pretty heartbreaking floods. It did not seem to discriminate.

kinda... I know square miles wise I don't think the area was that big, or was it?..
Just curious if it would have had a really high percentage take damage or what?

Just curious is all. No harm no foul Baw before you get your panties in a wad

yeah I don't see a storm discriminating, what a dumb arse remark.... I asked a pretty easy question to ask, not saying it's not heartbreaking. Of course it is.... You sound like you would like to butthurt really really bad...

The communities along Hurricane Creek, Jones Creek, and Claycut got it pretty bad but are slowly starting to drain. Maurepas communities still have high water.

I think (and hope) that Spanish Lake retained a lot of flood water that would have impacted the Dawson Creek and Bayou Fountain water sheds - which include LSU.

Kind of a strange question, don't be surprised when people take offense to it

I think the city of st. George would have been fine, hypothetically

thanks for the info.... Ok my issue is I only lived in BR for not that many years while in school and while I know all the main thoroughfares, knowing the names of specify street in random neighborhoods and the bayous that run along them is knowledge I never acquired like I do in Nola and surrounding areas. And following the long thread with updates on specifics get kind of hard for 'out of towners' when google maps don't always hand these drainage canals marked.... So using specific landmarks like main thoroughfares is much appreciated by some trying to check on loved ones property.

why, I have no beef either way... I think let the people that live in that area do what they want....

I was just curious for curiosity sake and the fact I have a loved one that lives in what I think was the middle of the proposed area.....

Was just curious if they would have taken s big brunt of the damage or maybe a smaller percentage... If it would have all passed I don't even know if they would have even been their own city or not yet. I'm not sure how that all works and how long it takes tbh

Like I said, no harm no foul, no reason to try and get butt hurt. I understand people are on edge and emotional right now but is just a question out of curiosity...

I'm not butt hurt at all, I just wanted to give you a warning people are understandably testy today. To be honest, I'm not even entirely sure what the borders of St. George are supposed to be, where is your family located?

no you can go frick your self boss man. Don't need you in my thread unless you would like to answer some questions to help me out about damage in a neighborhood and to scratch my curiosity on the sg proposal.... I'm about to look up now what area the proposal included, again out of curiosity no harm no foul

specifically North of the ditch running through the middle of the neighborhood, and closer to Siegen lane.... Thanks Ed

yeah I know. I was just curious why someone would be over my post is all.... But it's all good. Just curious

Holy shite. I was completely wrong on the size. I had no clue the proposal was that big.

I guess this is correct, I pulled
It from the SG website..

But anywho, how much f that area for flooded.. I know that Spanish swamp is in there so from what I read I. The stickied thread, that swamp helped out a ton

Holy shite... That was just a curious part of the question... I don't give a frick about the actual city of SG if they become a city or not... It was just a question.... But not a single person will read around it and help answer some questions so I can check on someone's area.... I'm going to edit the entire OP I guess....

God damn I'm sorry I struck a nerve, that I don't even understand why....

And I can't believe no one on this board knows anything about that neighborhood I mentioned about 8 times... frick

You started a thread to ridicule a flooded area's politics, then edited completely after you got called out.

wait what??? I have no idea how you got that from that?... I have no bones either way about the politics of the area and just asked a question out of pure curiosity and even stated that several times.....

That's why I said you were trying to get butthurt, you were pulling someone out of your ask and reading what you wanted to try and justify he reaction you wanted to give.... Exactly like this social justice warriors you probably rail against.....

Get the frick out of here....

And yes I completely edited because I was trying to get info on a loved ones neighborhood but I was a jack arse and asked that question 2nd when I should have known the ADD around here would never make it past the SG question....

I can't believe you seriously think I was even remotely wanting to rail on anyone's politics... This fricking board sometimes lol

Not sure if it is has been answered yet, quit reading after the first few bs comments you got.

The neighborhood you are talking about is Quail Ridge, I don't think they had any major flooding issues but couldn't say for sure. I know that Oak Hills on the other side of Siegen is dry.

That area has a base elevation of between 35 and 40 feet so if it ever floods, all of Baton Rouge will be SOL.
