calling 911 was the right thing to do. the operator may not care but it still has to be reported. problem is alot of these calls get reported. it's up to local agents to determine real threats. just depends on how busy they are.

What they want to do is disrupt the daily lives of Americans, including instilling fear in your daily routines.

and apparently they've already done that without even using an attack, based on this thread

i don't think that's a big deal

if the terrorists wanted body counts, they would have done their attack on 9-10 during monday night football in denver

Its not about body counts, its about disrupting the financial markets.

well fricking up the NFL and opening that can of worms would have major economic impacts. prolly more than attacking 1 wal mart

Nope, i'll still go back to the same wal-mart and carry on my business as usual. There is a difference between living in fear and being alert and giving people a heads up. Do i want someone to not go shopping today because of what I saw? Hell no.

Jesus SPF,
The terrorists win if we have some fear?

Do the terrorist win if we fear fear so much, that we are unwilling to react in a suspicious situation?

Just a thought... do the detectors near the Wal-Mart entrances only detect if a shoplifted item is going out, or can they serve as metal detectors as well??

they're only scanners

do they go off every time you walk through them with your keys in your pockets?

I'm posting this from inside a Wal-mart right now. I'm in the backpack section mean-mugging a couple of Arabs hanging out in the Electronics Department

well yeah.

owlie is an idiot.

no suprise here.

the reports go into a database if it fits any kind of pattern or what not it will send up a flag. especially if it's an area of high interest or activity.

How much business did gas stations lose during the sniper-fire of John lee Malvo in the Virginia/DC area?

Not trying to make a point, just honestly curious

No.
So they wouldn't go off if someone had guns or a bomb?
