Did every generation think, "What a time to be alive!"

Do you think this has been a general mindset through all of historical time? What generation/time probably didn't think this?
Edit: This should be geared towards the technology/quality of life during the time. Ancient Romans probably couldn't fathom a time that could be better than what they had.

I often think about this, like when its 106 I wonder how people survived without Cold air, or how people lived without games and the internet.

As near as I can tell, they all think the world is going to hell in a hand basket and things are way worse than when they were growing up.

i was 7-8yrs old during 80s, teen in 90s. I loved it, and miss alot of things during those times. Im sure nostalga is the reason, and being a kid is great alone. And most everyone had fun as a kid. The moment you become an adult with a job and real responsibilities its not fun.

I'm a milennial and would probably trade places with my parents' generation (tail end of baby boomer era). I think they got the best of both worlds, with an era of prosperity and amazing technological advancement, but times were still simpler.

I can't see what people in the late 40s/early 50s had going on. Seems like a pretty miserable time period.
