Did anyone's kid go through a bottle strike when they were a baby?

My 5 month old suddenly stopped eating from a bottle. His mom is out of town and I'm about to lose my fricking mind.

Advice? Is this just a phase? Does this mean my baby is trashy?

Opposite problem here.

Your baby will take the bottle if you put a little sugar water on the nipple.

Real milk or formula right now?

Breast milk still. He is on rice cereal twice a day right now, but he hasn't eaten more than 3oz from any bottle today.

I'm about to pour his arse a bowl of Cheerios.

I've not been this frustrated in a long time.

Checked for fever?

When babies get sick they tend to stop eating/drinking

could be getting sick

could be just being a little shite

Seriously, is he fussy at all? Does he get ear infections? If his ears or throat are bothering him, then it may hurt to gulp down the bottle.

Chill out a little
This can be multiple things

May be teething, possible fever, possibly both, possible ear infection dependig on severity of fever if one is present

Could be just withdrawn from mom possibly

this is where my money currently lies.

Reading the LLL forums makes me mad. Those bitches are saying their kids around the same age just suddenly stopped eating bottles...

If you feed your baby formula instead of the tit milk, you are trashy. There are exceptions but get that baby a tit.

we haven't yet, but I have wasted a fair amount of the freezer stash this weekend by pouring out half bottles he is refusing to finish.

Bottle flow too high or not high enough, temp not right, etc.

Find one of mommy dirty article of clothing so he can smell her when you try to feed again.
