Did anyone do the annual “What are you buying your employees for Christmas” thread yet?

Trying to find something for my direct reports - 6 people, both male and female all different ages.

They work their tails off for me, but I’m alsoplanning on taking them out to dinner (we’re a fun team, they like getting together and busting balls since they all work in different locations - I’m not forcing them in to it). Dinner will run me about $300-$350 already, so not looking to spend a ton on gifts because this is out of pocket for me - but I’d like to get them each something.

What are you folks getting your employees for Christmas this year?

(INB4: “just give them money or a gift card”)

One of my personal assistants is sending them all gift cards, fruitcakes, and the most delectable holiday popcorn on Earth!

Six pack of beer, and a day off. Or, one extra day pay if they don’t want the time off.

:eyeroll:

Who doesn’t know the difference between direct and indirect reports?

Who wants more than 6 directs? Gotta add layers to separate yourself from the proletariat.

What restaurant are you taking them where 7 adults can have a celebratory dinner for $300?

It’s NJ - pretty much everywhere is BYOB up here. Liquor licenses are limited by the population of each town and therefore very difficult for non-chains to afford.

For the females (20+) my wife got them coffee tumblers with their initials on them, with some lip balm and bath products.

For the males (3) we just got $20 amazon gift cards.

I will be giving them their gifts at a office Christmas party I am paying for.

Can’t pump your own gas and have to bring your own booze to the reataurant. New Jersey sounds worse and worse the more I learn.

I’m so confused. Those are two of the BEST things about NJ.

I just told you I can take 7 people to dinner for $300 bucks + bring my own liquor instead of paying restaurant markup AND I don’t have to get out of my car when it’s freezing out or in the middle of summer.

These are *good* things.

Sorry my light hearted joke downplayed the importance of your job in your “look at me, I’m important” thread
