BR didn’t have it nearly as bad as SW Avoyelles. Out of power since about 7 and have heard of many trees down on power lines.

PeeJ said the storm would “blow up as soon as it got in the GOM”

Then he said Baton Rouge had nothing to worry about

Is the center of circulation just south of alexandria right now? It looks as though the winds on the backside of the storm have been pushed east. Are these accurate assumptions?

Katrina didn’t hit New Orleans but I think I know what you mean.

Still some very healthy gusts here north of downtown St. Amant. They’ve increased over the past hour and a half and are frequently getting into the 50mph range and approaching 60mph.

I welcome the wind at this point if it is cool. But low enough mph so that entergy can start working. I remember after Andrew hit and things calmed down with the wind that my mom opened up the windows and we had the best breeze blowing through the house.

Jay Grimes back live

25-37 sustained
54 gusts

Thinks we should be under 40 mph gusts by daybreak
