Let the boy go through rush and make up his own mind. There is lots of disinformation about the LSU DKE Chapter in this thread, especially the stuff about drug usage.

That being said, Zeta Zeta has a bad rep right now, that is so off its laughable.

I would love to say the DKE's are the only fraternity with a drug culture but they aren't. They just appear to enjoy that culture to the fullest with no fricks given.

of course it has a presence, but compared to other schools i've partied at... it's not that prevalent. it really depends on the circles you run in though.

This thread is giving me one of my first "Get off my lawn" moments.
I didn't graduate from LSU that long ago, relatively speaking, and coke and pills weren't really that prevalent. Weed, maybe but it was mostly behind closed doors.
Probably more of us were binge alcoholics. Very highly functioning, though.

I don't know about drug use at LSU and/or the fraternity scene today. Back in the mid-late 80's, it was little more than alcohol usage, with some frats dabbling in coke and roids.
It saddens me to think that the whole gamut of drugs has gained some type of broad acceptance, when it used to be shunned.

Exactly. Sometimes a legacy is not a fit for the current active chapter, and vice versa. It is best for them to have a fraternity experience with a group to which they are best suited.

I'm with you, who cares what a 18 year old kid chooses. He will select whichever group he feels most comfortable with. I thought it was a little weird for someone's uncle to be concerned about this but decided to not say anything.

LSU and DKE are like never neverland....it's where you never grow up. And the opportunity to come back on a Saturday and play like you're in college and maybe bite some cute young thing on the bottom one more time makes what makes it all worth it.
