This 100%. That was a wild time. I was let back in Orleans early with my contractor pass but it’s nearly impossible to put into words the absolute eeriness every afternoon right before sunset for the following weeks. Some of the darkest, strangest evenings of my life. Most of those people living in the east by that bridge had never as much ventured across town, nor had a reason to until then. This was also before smartphones and social media. There were absolute shell shocked, displaced people everywhere thinking the world was ending and it near up to them to protect their ground. Some of them were cops. It was a situation of disparity meeting lawless misconduct and overstepping boundaries. This was happening everywhere, this situation just happened to be publicized.
