It is what it is. I'm not expecting people to not shoot fireworks because some people have young children.

I just hope it's not going on too late.

I'm listening to my son in his room just talking to himself right now. I have an air purifier in his room that drowns out a lot of noise from outside his room. I haven't heard him react to any fireworks yet, but I'm seeing some not too far away through my back yard.

When did this become a dog thread? I'm talking about my discomfort. I'll be hitting the sack in a couple hours.

And I just got out of his room. Had to go in a second time and stay in there until he finally fell asleep.

Depends. When it's bedtime or nap time we just lay him down. we calm the mood though, then off lights, lower the volume on any TV's and such.

If he wakes up in the middle of the night it depends too. If I go in and he's standing up then I'll rock him until he's calm or asleep. If he's still laying down then I'll just rub his back until he doesn't react when I stop. Then sometimes he will freak out as soon as I leave so I'll actually just lay down next to his bed until he lays down. He's only recently started waking up at night though. The last couple of weeks he's been waking up like 3 night per week.

We've been doing that for a little while now though. Probably 8 months or so. It was a great day and kinda sad when we stopped rocking him to sleep. It was great to be able to just go lay him down and let him fall asleep on his own, but knowing that I wasn't going to be rocking him to sleep anymore was sad.
