Were they still up there this afternoon? If I were a roofer, I'd be up there at the buttcrack of dawn and getting off the roof by early afternoon before it gets really scorching.

I used to work a lot of jobs with this one roofer that would get on the job at 3 am this time of year and at noon, he was coming down off that roof and done for the day. He did mostly flat industrial and commercial roofs, though.

I finally left my apartment to go to the store

Hot but not too terrible

Felt like I was walking around in a giant oven. Noticed no one at the apartment pool.

Well, with the sun beating down, the concrete deck around the pool and the water temperature likely in the upper 80's or higher range, who can blame them.
