Your rights to do what you will with your property ends where it deprives your neighbors of their enjoyment of their property. In dense suburban neighborhoods, cutting grass is a very loud activity that is extremely difficult for neighbors to sleep through. Cutting grass early in the morning on a weekend is just as much a nuisance as a loud out of control party late at night on a week day. It prevents others from enjoying their property (sleep), thus is able to be regulated under the concept of nuisance laws with remedies in both tort and criminal law.

Also, it’s just bad mowing practice. Mowing before the dew burns off will dull your blades faster and risk more clogs and breakdowns. It also increases your chances of leaving ruts. It’s bad for your yard, bad for your mower, and bad for your neighbors. If you live close to your neighbors and choose to mow grass early in the morning on a weekend, you’re the kind of person who deserves swift and forceable removal from society.
