They most definitely did in the video. They said ultimately it was a ground to over head workout as long it was complete extension through knees hips and head through seeing ears.

It wasn't as fast as snatches but it definitely helped when my shoulders forearms and grip starting getting smoked.

Why do you think they called it snatches instead of GTOH since that's what it was?

Got 260 on Friday and 270 today. Going unbroken on the DU's are the key to this one.

Unbroken double unders are huge. I am a big/strong guy so I don't have the endruance but I knock out my 30 DUs in about 18-20 seconds. Makes a huge difference

I was on pace to get over 315+ Saturday alternating snatches and C&J and then had to take a dump in the middle of it and stopped . I was starting my 5ths round at the 5 minute mark.

I felt like doing snatches for 5, C&J for 5 snatches for 5 is easy and gives you a 5 second or so breather while adjusting which was huge

It was called snatches I think cause that was the original 11.1 wod. I figured they changed it to accommodate more people since so many more signed up. Snatches at that weight are so much faster so the people they want at regionals will be the ines snatching.

Just a guess though

I tried a c and j once and said screw that. I just moved my hands in between a snatch grip and c and j grip and that worked well for me.

Eta: thanks for the add on o.p.

It is also extremely hard to judge what is a snatch and what is a clean and press. I can do a narrow grip snatch that arguably is just a C&J

You can tell that they are trying to make the movements as easy as possible to judge

im pretty sure its snatches and not GTOH. I watched the live reveal and they said nothing about GTOH

Snatches are way faster but between DUs and those, absolutely smoke my shoulders. C&J allows you to get more leg power taking strain off your shoulders.

When I do clean and jerk though I do one fluid motion and press. I just like that it hits different parts of my shoulders

I believe that is correct as well. The were clear that they wanted the extension in all areas for it to be a rep

Watch the video with the official movement standards on the linked page. LINK

They explain that it is really GTOH in any way possible. Again, it is likely to make it easier on judging

Im the same way on clean and jerks. I was probably doing the same as you with just a slightly wider grip. I felt good doing those...again, fricking doubles. Not bad for a guy who put his first TWO doubles together six months ago

Nobody at our gym realized it till Saturday morning on accident. A lot of people who are "weak" but have ridiculous endurance had their scores easily increase by 20-30 reps

Sidenote: Lester, do you have more posts than anyone?

i just watched the live show, im not that experienced. Been crossfitting for about 10 months now. My double unders suck but is more of a technique thing than strength. Its funny cause im a very coordinated person

whoever asked about the posts, i think i have like the 3 most on record. But a few posters have had post count reductions. Im more like 6 or 7th most probably

I am really good at double unders for some reason. I mean, I do double unders as well as the regional guys at my gym do them if not faster. It is weird though because I am 5'11 220 and do more strength and horrible at endurance.

I C&J 305 and Snatch 225 yet the snatches are what kill me on this. I just don't have that muscular endurance in my shoulders. Hell, I thruster 295 yet I can't keep my shoulders strong

Thats some crazy weight dude. Im not quite there yet. 265 c and j, 185 snatch, 235 thruster....but I do maintain pretty well on shoulders. I love most wods that are overhead cause I do have pretty good strength endurance up there
