I had bats one time that came in my vent screen on the outside of my house. They were technically not in my attic but against the screen so it was still a mess.
I built a bat house and mounted it in my yard. I wanted the bats because I had ZERO mosquitos. Those things eat their weight in mosquitos every night. Once you get them evicted, put up a bat house and you can have all the benefits with none of the hassle.
Also, bat guano is the best fertilizer that there is.

They are an absolute menace. They get in your walls. Your trees. Your attic. And they will always come back. There are better ways to control mosquitos… they suck the joy out of being outside after dark for months at a time… frick those rats with wings…

My mom is currently dealing with this. You can’t remove them yet as it’s mating season. I’ll find out who she plans to use

Get your wallet out and unfortunately most are shysters. Dont buy repellents or electronic devices. They are worthless.
I have had bats get in my gables twice and nest between interior side of brick and sheathing. If you know where they are entering/exiting it is almost no cost to get rid of them. Put a net or piece of window screen material over the hole and leave it unattached at the bottom.
Bats have to leave to feed at night and they will be able to get out but wont be able to get back in. I did this and they were gone completely in 2-3 nights. Once you are satisfied they are gone then seal the hole up.

I put up a bathouse on the back of my garage, and have 10-15 bats removing mosquitos and other bugs from my backyard nightly. Just go with the flow.
