A lawyer for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department told a judge Tuesday morning that criminal charges could be filed in the next 60 days in connection with the largest mass shooting in the country’s history.

Attorney Nick Crosby make the remarks to Clark County District Court Judge Elissa Cadish.

quote:

CNN reported: “Without naming names, there are potential charges against others as a result of the ongoing investigation — is that fair?” Cadish asked Crosby at one point.

“Yes,” Crosby responded. “There are charges being investigated.”

Asked about a time frame for the filing of such charges, Crosby said it “could be 60 days.”

Crosby added, “But I’m not privy to all of the information with respect to what’s going on.”

It was not revealed to whom the charges may be brought.

Local and federal authorities have said in the past they believe the gunman, Stephen Paddock, acted alone in the October 1 massacre. Paddock’s girlfriend, Marilou Danley, was initially identified as a person of interest but has not been charged with a crime.

Probably just a civil suit against gun manufacturers

I don’t think they would have referenced criminal charges if that were the case. Police departments don’t handle civil lawsuits.

This is the only person I can think of... Of course we only know what has been reported so there could be more to it, but it is definitely interesting.

I'm sort of amazed at the lack of details that have emerged from this event, so far. Wasn't there video cameras in the room? Surely the police got some interesting video footage from the hotel. Then there's all sorts of rumors about him dabbling in arms dealing?

I feel like I will be underwhelmed by whatever information will come out of this when you consider the damage that was done and the premeditation that it took.

She probably lied about something insignificant and they are going to charge her with obstruction in a effort to see if she will roll on anyone else.

Hopefully they are planning on charging whoever fired those thousands of rounds into the concert because it sure a shite wasn't Stephen Paddock.

Why would the citizens ever get the full story on this? White guy was a patsy for the real criminals. If you are planning on taking all those weapons up into that hotel and plan on killing random people, then why the frick would you renege on that after a security guard comes in to play? Not to mention that Paddock supposedly shot 200+ bullets out into the hallway onto the security guard, but then he quickly commits suicide. Not to mention that many people who were getting shot at assumed that there were at least 2 shooters.

But again, why the gov't give us the details on what happened? It would be in their best interest to not give us the info, as I'm sure it would make them look bad.
