Good Ole Boys in Katy... which is decent by LA standards and great by Texas standards... is charging $9.99 a lb.
Some things I miss about living in Katy... getting ripped off for crawfish is not one of them.

Yet another reasons I hate early Mardi Gras. I generally don't like to start eating crawfish until mid March because the selection is better, river bugs are starting to run, and prices are better. Yet this year, Lent will be 2/3 over by then.

Prices usually drop after Good Friday. The demand on Fridays during the Lenten season and Good Friday itself in enough to keep the prices up. The sellers know the people will pay.
