I have boiled a few lobsters with a touch of liquid crab boil in the water; of course butter is still essential for dipping. It might sound expensive, but this year it cost less to fill up on lobster than crawfish.

I lived in Angola (the country) and brought all of my crawfish boiling gear over with me when I moved. I was able to get tubs of fresh lobster there fresh out of the boats for less than a $1 per lobster. Lobster is legit boiled up like crawfish.

Because it takes about 10 minutes to stuff yourself on shrimp. Maybe less if you have fixings.

Crawfish is a sit around the table talking and peeling and eating for at least 45 minutes until your fingers are numb.

And then coming back an hour when you build up the stamina to snack on a few more.

Plus the seasonality of crawfish is what makes it special. People hype over King Cake when there's little difference to a cinnamon roll, other than seasonality.

all good points....thats why it's stupid to compare a shrimp boil to a crawfish boil

Yeah not buying that sack obviously.

I don't know if you've paid attention lately, but if you buy crawfish anytime soon you're paying out the arse for it.

You described why Louisiana is the fattest state in America. People here view food as a reason to have a social gathering instead of using it for its intended purposes. To keep your body working properly

Bro, you can break down the daily eating habits of why people are fat, but the occasional social outing of a crawfish boil?

I’m giving up crawfish for Lent this year

I’m giving up the no meat on Fridays thing that I’m pretty sure only South Louisiana does.

They aren’t normally that low this early in February in “normal” years.

Roughly 2-3 oz of meat per pound of crawfish. In a sack there’s usually 5lb-6lbs of tail meat
