He's going to send you a "cashiers check" for a little more than the agreed upon price. Something for your troubles, is what it'll say. Total scam. It's a bogus check. Run.

Tell him to send you the money through PayPal and once you receive the funds you will send the item. If he still insist upon the cashiers check then walk away.

Your account and routing number is on your checks. Have you ever written a check and given it to a cashier at a supermarket? Have you ever mailed a check to someone to pay a bill? Did you know either of the people that handled the check on the other end?
