A stress crack can happen without a rock hitting but it shouldn't. Either be from a defected glass, bad urethane, or improper placement. Being new it shouldn't happen at all since installed from factory. But shite can happen.

I've had one side window and one rear window shatter on different cars from rock thrown by yard guys weed eating nearby. Windshields just crack and don't shatter. Could you have been parked where a yard crew was working recently?
