This must be the most unbearable thing to have to live through for a decade or so. A buddy of confided in me that he and his wife are basically roommates until the kids go to college. I'm assuming kids can sense this dysfunctional relationship. It's 2015. Get a divorce already.

The kids know. Better to separate and stay cordial.

To most guys it is about the money and not the kids though.

This seems pretty random.

Yep. They'd rather keep the lifestyle than a divorce. Wives know what's up.

Married. Wife and I are talking about this as I post. She said she'd rather get divorced.

As long as you aren't openly fighting, it's probably better. Divorce is one of the most brutal things a child can go through.

I wish more people would enter into Marriage with the notion that it is a permanent commitment. I realize there will always be exceptions. I just think people would not take marriage so lightly.

Also the divorce laws are not fair to the income producer.

No. And my boy feels that being divorce is a bad sign as he climbs the corporate ladder. Companies want stability.

The 'cold shoulder ignoring' is just as bad, if not worse. Gives your children a warped sense of a living relationship.

Putting out off doesn't make it easier.

Currently separated. Having my 11 y/o son ask me when I'm moving back home is one of the most unbearable things I've ever experienced. I can see why people do it.

Heard someone give the advice that, "go get an estimate of what it will cost for the divorce."

Yeah, if it is a financial decision you have crossed the point of being to get a divorce.

11? That a tough age. I was 16. Little brother was 11. He's never been the same.

There are people on here who talk about marrying a girl based on attractiveness. Morons.

Also, it isn't your spouses job to make your happy.

My ex's parents were pretty much the same way when she was growing up. I could tell it rubbed off on our relationship a lot.
