Why do you think our national debt is so high and inflation?
Along with Ukraine an illegal invaders.
It's too damn much for everyone but us regulars.

Family of 3 I typically spend $300 every 2 weeks at Sams on food. Yes, very doable.
ETA: on second thought, that usually includes a $45 box of diapers and stuff like deodorant, etc. So if that is strictly food, it is extremely doable

Family of 5. Not going to lie we would have to cut some stuff out to make it but we could. Would be hard.
We budget $400 a week for food and alcohol from the grocery store.
Hell if we just go to Publix to stock up on drinks and snacks for a softball tournament it's over $100, shite is expensive these days.

More than enough money. The problem that plagues Americans with food, and this affects our health as well as our pocket book is
1) Lazy and looking for the shortcut ALL the time
2) Food and cooking ignorant, and don’t care about finding out, even though the answers are at their fingertips at a moments notice.
3) Always shopping the heavily processed and uber expensive interior aisles, and rarely if ever just raw goods to put together themselves and cook with, be it making sauces, baking goods, or raw goods in general.
4) little to no time in prepping or planning
5) No organization to speak of/
We waste more money than I’d argue any other country on the planet when it comes to purchasing at the grocery store.
Want to test that out? Compare equal amounts of flour, baking powder, and baking soda, salt, and sugar to what is in a box of Bisquick for example and the amount they charge for that box of Bisquick compare to the amount you spend on equal amounts of the exact same goods you just measure and put together to make the same thing will floor you. It’s all about convenience, and we pay for that. THAT, and Marketing of course. Marketing gets us every time with branding. Same for making a cake, baking bread, biscuits, etc…
It’s just what it is, but you constantly hear people say they can’t eat better, when the truth of the matter is, it’s an enormous cop out. They aren’t willing to put the time into it.

This is why the USA will never get out of debt. Entitlement spending is crushing us, and the politicians think if it’s stripped away that Rome will instantly burn. I don’t think so. If you take away benefits it incentives people to go get a job, and restore morality to this country.

Yes, it does.
A restaurant owner told me about it and I also read the emergency order that Edwards had signed during the pandemic.

This must have gone through.

60-70 a week on groceries for 1 person is “very low”? I could easily cut that in half if I *really* needed to. Aka was poor.
lol no sorry- didn’t know it was just you. That’s reasonable.
My family of 5 spends $1000/mo on all the Whole Foods organic stuff and I was feeling self conscious

I am 100% certain that no one here would be able to feed a family on the estimated average benefit. For a family of four, it's a bit less than $6/day per person. That's $2/meal. Good luck with that.
Taxes aren’t charged, so that adds more food you can buy. Whatever your tax rate is, not having to pay for example 5% tax on $700 worth of groceries is an extra $35 to spend on food.
The “S” in SNAP stands for “Supplemental”. It’s not designed to pay every expense one has at a grocery store, and it doesn’t factor in free meals kids get in/after school.
Over $700/month goes a long way towards feeding 4 people a month, with planning it can be done. 18 eggs can make nine two egg meals. Thats way less than .50/per meal.
Stop making excuses for people.

I have a family of 4 and my weekly grocery budget is $200. That number isn’t far off the snap number so yes.

Red Beans&Rice. Cornbread. Turnip greens, mustard greens, collard greens. Sweet potatoes. Fried chicken on extra special occasions. The way we ate when we went to visit Maw Maw and Paw Paw,

It’s crazy to me that we give people upwards of 12k a year just to feed themselves. Ridiculous.
