Compressions with mouth-to-mouth were recommended when I received instructor training.

We had to practice on the mannequin. One old-timer had false teeth and couldn't get a lip lock on it. He just pulled his teeth out, put them in his shirt pocket and went to town. To this day one of the funniest sights I've seen.

Yep. I have to be BLS, PALS(children), and NRP(newborn) certified for work every 2 years.


Fun fact.....15 years as a nurse and I've never actually done chest compressions on a patient. All the codes I've been involved in were children going into severe respiratory distress so you aren't doing chest compressions.
