Donald Watkins is a well-known civil rights attorney. He was the first one on Gov. Bentley's case and was spot on correct from day one.

As interesting as all this is, do you really think any of the national television media will ever pick up on this......thay is a big fat no. Especially if UA tie-in gets hotter!!

ETA: Ain't no 30 for 30 being made on this no matter how revelation.

I mean you really think UA has that level of pull froma a national media perspective - because they don't.

I read up on him a bit yesterday, but haven't lived in the state for about 7 years at this point.

Are the Bunn's really as "big money" as he makes it out to be, I am pretty good friends with some people in Tuscaloosa from wealthy families and had never heard of him / them before.

I really don't think we need to get into that same back and forth again in this thread.

Totally agree. I have not read the whole thread....only brought it up since you mentioned how UA does not have national pull to much of an extent. Better team won in 2011 and I am completely at terms with that :)

I mean they are on the same donor list level and, to me at least, the entire construction company (father, uncle, whole family) having lifetime givings between $100,000 - $500,000 per the donor list just doesn't seem like some unbelievable amount if they are as rich as it is implied.

Still has nothing to do with football. When you say Alabama could be the next Baylor, your booms should be football related.

I keep expecting to come in here and see an update that actually would make Bama be the next Baylor, but it appears this is just a pipe dream.

frick that guy though, and the Corporate and Foundation Relations department should be blown up

They are big money, but they aren't highly respected.

Their big clout comes from the fact that they are one of the largest asphalt paving construction companies in the area. They pave just about all of the state and city roads in this ALDOT region. Another company does the county roads, but Bunn is the 800 lb gorilla in the paving world.

ok now that is one weird coincidence right?

Just wait for the Netflix original.

The question football related is what comes to light because of this spotlight. Bama has a shocking amount of domestic violence cases on their football team since Saban arrived

I'm sure they're big money by Tuscaloosa standards, which isn't saying a whole lot. Most of the money coming into the city that is driving new construction is coming from out of state.

The Bunn Construction office is on University Boulevard in a large white plantation style office. Basically across the street from Hooligans/Innisfree. You've definitely seen it if you've lived in Tuscaloosa, though you may not have noticed it.

(a) send Megan Rondini’s rape kit and urine sample to a forensic lab for testing;

Even if they had, the results would likely not be back by now. The backlog in AL is insane.

quote:

(b) take extensive interview notes on the details of Megan’s rape allegations;

The interview should have been recorded. She should have provided a written statement. At the minimum.

quote:

 (c) interview Megan’s friends who were with her at Innisfree Irish Pub;

You cannot make them answer questions. What if they refused?

quote:

question Sweet T in detail about his interaction with Megan, from the time they saw each other at the Pub to the time she left his house;

As former law enforcement and now an attorney, if the cops show up and start asking you about crimes you ask for an attorney period. A good one will show up and tell you to shut up.

quote:

(e) investigate Sweet T for personal drug use, or his possible drugging of Megan on the night in question;

Excuse me well you take a drug test that can be used against you in a court of law? "No. I want an attorney." See previous answer of what a competent attorney will say when they arrive.

quote:

(f) investigate Sweet for prior sexual assault allegations lodged and reported by other women; and

Go ahead. It is not admissible. If any investigation existed and was unfounded and the cops or DA bring it up there will be another type of civil case pending.

quote:

(g) follow a litany of established protocols for fully and properly investigating allegations of rape.

In addition to the above? Such as?

Thats a direct tie to the TPD and the university and shows motive by the head of the TPD to protect Sweet T for the benefit of the university.
