A staff therapist named Kathy Echols wrote up an incident report, which listed the alleged perpetrator as “TJ Bunn.” When Megan returned to campus nearly two months later, Echols was the therapist who met her for a counseling session. That’s when Echols told Megan she knew the Bunn family and therefore had to recuse herself from the case, medical records show. (Echols’ own notes, obtained by BuzzFeed News, say she “recognized the family name.”
So the therapist that went to the police station that night is the same one that would recuse herself two months later when Meagan went to her for counseling.
Also
quote:
She had no idea that investigators were also updating the university about the concerns law enforcement had with her allegations. First, they alerted the Title IX coordinator that there were “issues” with Megan’s case because she’d “admitted she took Bunn’s money” — the $3 — “and a gun out of his car.” “She also admitted to shooting the gun and we think it hit his house,” Lt. Kip Hart wrote in an email to UA three days after investigators interviewed Bunn. Before law enforcement sent Megan the letter formally closing her case, Hart once again emailed the Title IX coordinator to update her, saying the case would “probably be closed as unfounded.”
So the investigators were in direct contact with the university giving them updates on the case...

But although Megan and her family were told her criminal case wouldn’t move forward, the district attorney’s office eventually decided to present it to a grand jury after all. There was a catch. In a package deal, the grand jury would also rule on felony charges against Megan for breaking into Bunn’s car and stealing his gun. Internal documents from September 2015 imply authorities didn’t intend to fight too hard on Megan’s behalf: Investigators noted they found “no sexual assault occurred.”
So the police already judged the case for the grand jury.

You minimize women's rights by claiming this is about football.
Are you not the main one in this thread making it about football? As in your theory is the guy only got off because his family is a big donor to the football program

What I think is getting lost in the story is Meagan wasnt just up against some rich guy, Meagan was up against the whole roll tide deep state of Alabama. You take this case out of Alabama and there are no charges being brought against the victim, there is no prejudicial statements by the investigators to the grand jury, there are no e-mails and phone calls to the university reassuring them that this thing will go away. Its sad but I'm starting to think, after reading all this, that Mr Bunn had about as good a chance of getting charged with rape as Hillary Clinton getting charged by Loretta Lynce. Mr Bunn is one of the biggest boosters to the football program at Alabama, which plays second fiddle to no one in Tuscaloosa and that includes Jesus.

Are you talking about Sweet T, his daddy, or his uncle?

The response by Bama fans to this thread has been the total opposite to the response by the university to Meagan's cries for help.

Blackmon is a one-time University of Alabama golfer who has received recognition for donating money to Crimson Tide athletics. He has served on church boards and is listed as president of a family foundation that has more than $1.2 million in assets and has given tens of thousands to charity
Man it seems like rape culture is entrenched deep in the Bama culture or they'll accept money from anyone as long as it pays Saban's salary.

This is a very sad situation but I don't see the comparison of Bama to Baylor. Bunn is neither a student nor an athlete at the University.
Bingo, this has little to nothing to do with the University.

You got 16 pages to catch up on before you jump to this conclusion. It has UofA fingerprints all over it.

Seems legit.

Honestly, athletes have been protected for so long they think they can do whatever they want without penalty. I do believe that a large number of these allegations are from girls with "morning after regrets" or being embarrassed when others found out (especially dad when the BBC is involved) so they cry rape. If you are an athlete in today's world you almost need a signed affidavit before having sex to cover your arse.......and that is just so sad but that's the world we live in.

At LSU, rapes that get reported get investigated, not swept under the rug. Sit back and watch how a moral and just University looks out for their female students. Alabama you don't even give them the benefit of the doubt. Just disgusting

The report says 16 rapes were reported to an LSU campus advocacy group last year, but some victims say the process grinds to a halt there and that university does little to protect them or punish perpetrators.
