All 12 year olds should be able to at least complete the Ironman imo

It really isn't hard to complete. It's not easy obviously, but most can complete it in the 17 hours they allow.

I've done one and trained with a group filled with plenty of non-physically-gifted people. It's mostly mental. Have to have the mentality to train for about 6 months. Not backbreaking training, just consistently get out and do it. Have to have the mental toughness to keep going 14 hours into the day. It absolutely does not take a physical specimen.

I'm far from fast, blew up on the run, and walked a ton. Still finished with nearly 5 hours to spare.

Don't forget you need a year of training first. 98% of Ot'ers could do it.
