Chart only shows suppression strategies for 5 months, hence the later peak. Theoretically if you continue to the suppression strategies, then you won't have a peak, which might be the goal if we are holding out for a vaccine.
Oh there's going to be a peak. Because if you push this 'suppression strategy' for 18 months, the USA will cease to exist. We will be too economically weak to survive or defend ourselves. Act like China or Russia will take it easy on us because we've been busy hiding in our houses for 2 years. We'll all be speaking another language sooner rather than later. We simply cannot economically survive the 'best case scenario' for working through this virus.
I'm not disagreeing that 18 months worth of heliophobia will solve this pandemic. I'm just saying a lot of people don't realize we're burning down the house to smoke out a rat.

but I think that once all of this is over people will be so stir crazy and glad it's over that we'll have a huge economic boom back to where we were. With a new appreciation on life, people will be thrilled to go into work again, go out shopping/eating/drinking, and go on vacation and spend money. All of this bad stuff is temporary.
Absolutely.
For all the muh economy people, you must have thought the economy was shite if you don't think we will recover quickly once this is over.

They also successfully tested a shite ton more people than we have and nipped it in the bud. We are reacting; the were proactive.
Exactly.
And they've still only tested 250k and they're that far ahead of us.

Only problem with a hybrid solution is that you need accurate data for your own country to implement something like that. I think we're doing the right thing now, but at some point people need to get back to work.

It’s a balancing act. 15 days + the week or so we’ve already been doing this shite will slow the spread a helluva lot more than what more than what some want (just quarantine olds who will break quarantine because they are old and dgaf)
So slow the curve for 2 weeks then frick it? The number of cases in 15 days will triple at least. Then what?
Posted on 3/18/20 at 2:14 pm to lsutiger2010
yes. that way if you are positive and leave your quarantine you are put in social isolation

full suppression for two months
test every single person in the usa
if you test positive : they brand you with a stamp with expiration date
if you go outside before date you are thrown in containment camp and served bread and water
Go away dummy

I get what you’re saying, but if you lose your job, then you may lose your home/automobile. That shite stays on your credit report for years. Same with a bankruptcy.

That will be addressed 100%. I'd bet my life there will be relief for people who fall behind.
All foreclosures and evictions are currently halted in Louisiana for example.

What about Italy, Spain, France and Germany? You realize our situation is 100x more comparable to theirs than China and SK right?
Gonna sunshine pump in some optimism today.
Italy had tens of thousands of their chinese sweatshop workers go to Hubei and surrounding Providences for chinese new year and return back heavily seeding their country with the coronavirus.
Spain's feminist/marxist government had the FANTASTIC idea to organize huge women's marches and strike on March 8th despite knowing how contagious and dangerous this thing was.
EU open and easy travel allowed this thing to spread widely around the EU and STILL continues to let that happen. France and Germany are probably screwed over by this.
We'll probably not be as bad off as them since we've been way more proactive with our travel bans and lockdowns.

HUD halted them across the nation

Some banks have already offered some relief.
But if you can’t find a job you can’t pay it anyhow.

Yea just happened.
There will be relief for people who fall behind. People might not be made 100% whole, but all them restaurants and bars are gonna be packed when this is over. People are still gonna build shite when this is over. People are still gonna buy shite when this is over.
Mortgage relief probably on the way soon
