Important to clarify, sick with a novel highly infectious virus with no vaccine or cure?

I'm not playing into mass hysteria. I'm pissed off at how this is going to personally affect me as the story you are talking about is actually happening around me right now.
ETA: There is pretty much a 100% chance that someone that guy came into contact with works at the same place I work.

So doing what law enforcement and your doctor is telling you to do is mass hysteria?

Depends on what your definition of “highly” is.

It isn’t mass hysteria to try and shut something down as best as possible. It is based on science.
That is like saying so many people getting the flu shot is “mass hysteria” No, you would prefer not to have the flu nor Coronavirus.
Now, sure some people can be hysterical and go overboard but that isn’t the point.

The CDC is saying that this is somewhere between 1 to 7 times as deadly as the flu is. Some people just can't think of anyone but themselves.

Y’all act like this didn’t happen:
“In a letter to parents, VDOH officials said the father and daughter didn't learn of the diagnosis until after they were already at the dance. They left the dance immediately after.”

Was he directed to quarantine before or after that?

Well these last two pages of a story that has already been posted and discussed here proves if a quarantine will ever work in America.
Nooo.
Nooo.

The more people with your shitty attitude, the worse the coronavirus is for everyone. This chart might help you see why it's so bad for it to get rapidly spread and out of control fast. If everyone acted like dancing dad, we'd be wuhan 2.0 or worse.

They were told to self quarantine on Thursday*. The dance was on Saturday.
*If you believe the St Louis county officials and the Post-Dispatch.

Where do you guys come up with these numbers? You're off by a factor of 10

He was asked to as a standard response to anyone who calls the hotline and Lives with someone who shows symptoms. You think he was the only person who’s family member called that hotline and didn’t stay home when they were told to? Don’t those hotlines gets hundreds if not thousands of calls?

Here's the thing, at some point those decisions to cancel things are going to be made. And it's because of retards like the dance dad, not because of some hysteria.
His family is single-handedly turning a potential threat into an actual threat for the metro area in which I live and work. Because he's a fricking self-absorbed a-hole.
