I can appreciate close to a millennia of tradition while also recognizing it has its faults, is largely ceremonial, and that Parliament actually rules the Commonwealth.

William is full of charisma today. Real touching moment of emotion when he help his father with the garments.

Is the guy who presented the glove, the same guy who guarded the Cup of the Holy Grail in the Indiana Jones film:

“You chose wisely.”

Random side note, Elizabeth I’s coronation glove is one of the few clothing items that exist in tact from her reign.

So, the Michael Jackson wearing one glove thing wasn’t his original idea?

St Edward's Crown is the crown used at the moment of coronation. It was made for Charles II in 1661, as a replacement for the medieval crown which had been melted down in 1649. The original was thought to date back to the eleventh-century royal saint, Edward the Confessor – the last Anglo-Saxon king of England.

I have my reasons. I don't have enough time to go into a full discussion on this thread. Maybe we can start a new discussion another day.

Charles parents are first cousins because of tradition. They live in a palace out of ceremony.

Selected managers rule restaurants, not the owner whose family has had it a thousand years and takes all the money.

Camilla will also be the first Queen Consort to not wear the Koh-i-Noor diamond on her crown. Male royals won’t wear it because it’s considered cursed for the male royal line. But typically women will wear it.

but it's an Anglo Saxon nation!. A millenia of tradition! Are you telling me it's just the latest inbred bloodline to jockey into position through manipulation and war?
