He was an abusive father. It wasn’t that he was a cop.

Could have been in any job, parental abuse is bad period regardless of what job they hold.

I bet you like that sharia law thread on the front page, probably enjoyed it. Thats what you want here isnt it?

Come on Dex, post something positive for once. Could be anything, its a terrible thing to go through life so miserable.

Bad analogy. He would have to reply, “But most criminals are good” to be analogous, and that is obviously absurd.

Hey it's a healthier activity than scraping boot polish off my tongue. That's all I can say about people like you who seem totally unbothered with how cops acted during covid. Seems only a few of us found it appalling to see cops, including red states, arresting people for keeping their businesses open, not wearing masks, going to church, moms taking their kids to the playground... A cop in Texas beat the hell out of an elderly woman for not putting a mask on. I'll never forgive them or those like you who enabled it.

What kind of incoherent mess is this and how does it relate to bad police officers? Not to mention I've made several threads stating how much I despise Muslims. Feel free to check them out.

Its just the same logic you use, which I am glad that you see it as an incoherent mess now. Your eyes have been opened.

Because no one makes a thread that says "unbelievable that people still blindly support citizens"

Cops are just people. Some are bad... same with literally every group of people on the planet

No, they're not. Not when they are on the job. They're an extension of the government and wield significant power. You really don't understand that and how many abuse that power?

They are human beings which is why a percentage is shitty. It's not a hard concept to understand. They are held to a higher standard. You start these threads like people should hate all cops...it's just stupid.

I'd rather manually bust apart rocks with a hammer for a living than be law enforcement. It's an incredibly fricked up job to deal with scum of the earth all day.

I was a first responder for a period of time. I had to leave it due to the nightmares from seeing things you cant even imagine. It's horrific and few people can sustain the stress load for long.

No, they're really not. That Somalian cop in Minnesota only got three years in prison for murdering the victim that called 911 in the first place. Officer Amber Guyger only got ten years in prison for breaking in and murdering a man eating ice cream in his own apartment. Any regular person who committed those crimes would have been sentenced to at least 25 to life.

Louisiana does have a cop on death row. We'll see if they ever follow through with executing them.

Quit painting everyone into some type of overreaching class. “Cops” includes hundreds of thousands or people … some good some bad.

I would after your umpteenth post about bad waitresses

Take a break from posting just about cops and you wont get the hate.

Of course, I’m thinking is you secretly love the hate you get here.

So carry on I guess.

If you stated it like your OP then it would read:

"I can't believe people still blindly support waitresses because this one waitress spit in this customers food."

^ that's what people are opposed to, your collective generalization about an entire group of people based on the behavior of one individual. And yes it works conversely as well, excusing heinous behavior from an individual because they support the group they belong to - I am just as opposed to that.

No one should be blindly supported. Especially government agents. That's my point. If there wasn't so much "back the blue" nonsense posted here then maybe you wouldn't see such pushback from some of us.

If that is the point you are trying to make, then give an example of that happening. You posted a story of one cop doing a despicable thing, what group of people are collectively supporting that behavior "because he is a cop" ? That baby wasn't committing a crime or resisting arrest or endangering the public. Just because a large number of people support police over criminals doesn't mean they excuse every single action of of cop. You're engaging in the exact behavior you claim to be against.

From my previous "bad cop thread" where a cop assaulted a woman in custody, several members here bemoaned his prison sentence and even wished that he had assaulted her further. So yes, plenty here do support bad cops and enjoy their despicable behavior. Just look at the downvotes. The majority here are mad that he was held accountable.

Not based on this reply in the thread, most were clearly against the cops behavior and punishment ->

quote:

A cop isn't a citizen when they are on duty. They're an extension of the government. They should be held to higher standards and greater punishments. He permanently disfigured the lady and you think six months is too much?

64 Up --- 8 Down

I still don't see an example of your claim. If you are talking about down votes on the OP, some people click down to register their disgust at the perp, not to disagree with your stance on the issue, so don't put too much weight in that.
