Why do women want to keep the ring? Tell people you were engaged once? Pawn it?

Commitment ring??
There are engagement rings, wedding rings, and gifts.
What is the guy gonna do if she doesn't give it back? If it's not an engagement or wedding ring...doesn't sound like he has any legal claim to it. She could just say it was a gift.

10k for a promise ring. I call bullish.

If that's your GF's opinion as well I would run.

Why would she want to keep a ring that she knows the real meaning behind? Not saying he's legally allowed to have it back, I'm just saying she sounds like an entitled puta

Who knows.
I would give it back.
Then again...I wouldn't have been with a guy that tried giving me a "commitment ring".

She should pawn it, then use the proceeds to buy her boyfriend something nice.

I'm sure there were more important things he could have spent that money on

Commitment rings?!? Is this a Denham thing?

Your friend done fricked up. Who spends $10K on a "commitment" ring?
She should keep it, since the dude was that stupid in the first place.

The commitment is over. So is the symbolism of the ring.
If she doesn't return it to him and let him move on with his life, as long as she wears it or keeps it he can have sex with her whenever he likes.

It was a commitment, she broke it, she returns the ring IMHO. It just shows what a trashy whore the chick is to take it and keep it knowing what it represented. May blue waffle come over her vagina.

If it was an engagement ring yes.

She should keep the ring. It is considered a gift. I'm sure services she rendered far outweigh the value of a crappy promise ring. Stupid!
